Definition of Bach Flowers
What are Bach Flowers? What are they for ?
The original Bach Flowers constitute a symbiotic and natural healing method discovered by Dr Bach in England in the 20th century . They gently restore balance between body and mind by chasing away negative emotions that interfere with the balance of the being as a whole.
For Dr. Edward Bach, mental illnesses are the basis of physical dysfunctions. Wishing to develop a gentle method rather than relying on chemistry, during 7 years of research and experimentation he developed 38 unique floral elixirs, corresponding to the 38 negative emotional states of thought . These emotional states are described one by one in the section The Twelve Healers of Dr. Bach's work entitled Healing with Flowers (or Heal Yourself) .
Unlike so -called traditional alternative medicines such as herbal medicine, aromatherapy or even homeopathy, which more particularly manage physical ailments; Bach flowers target and act on the mind . Bach's floral elixir complexes combine several natural plant extracts corresponding to negative emotional states, including fear, stress, uncertainty, sensitivity, doubt, sadness, loneliness, lack of energy. interest, exacerbated altruism or even discouragement.

Each Bach flower has its own power and properties . Bach Flowers therefore make it possible, for example, to increase self-confidence, to support depression, to combat the negative effects of menopause, to encourage letting go, to stimulate one's libido, to manage one's anger, to improve sleep and concentration or even act as an anti-stress.
Bach Flowers allow peace and happiness to return to the sufferer so that their body is free to heal itself.
Bach flowers, unless otherwise advised by the doctor or declared allergies, are safe for the whole family and are also used to treat pets , dogs and cats, but also horses and many other domestic animals.
The protocol for making Bach Flowers from Dr Bach consists of picking certain wild flowers. Among these 38 Bach flowers we find: mimulus, walnut, olive, aspen, star of bethlehem, white chesnut and many others. After picking, these flowers are immersed in lightly mineralized spring water and will macerate naturally under the sun's rays. These solar macerations will then be diluted in grape-based brandy, Whiskey (original recipe by Dr Bach) or in Organic Cognac, to preserve the active ingredients.
Each of the 38 remedies discovered by Dr. Bach is directed toward a particular characteristic or emotional state. It is possible to make a link between flower remedies and minerals, each retaining their own specificities, a similar objective can be found.

Here is the list of the 38 Bach flowers. In reality 37 are actually flowers, elixir number 27 being rock water.

Elixir n°1: Bach Flower Agrimony / Agrimony
"For jovial, cheerful, humorous, peace-loving people who are distressed by arguments or quarrels, and to avoid them take a lot upon themselves. Although they usually have problems and are tormented and restless and worried in mind or body, they hide their worries behind their humor and are considered very good friends to know. They often take alcohol or drugs in excess, to stimulate them and help themselves cope their trials with cheerfulness."

Elixir Rescue: Complex of 5 flowers
Considered a 39th floral elixir and developed by the Doctor, "rescue" (understand "emergency remedy" in French) is in fact a floral composition of 5 different Bach Flowers. Rescue would be recommended in particular to manage panic attacks, fear or anxiety.

Bach flower rescue, like all Bach flowers, is sold in a 10ml bottle or spray. You will easily find most of your Bach Flowers in pharmacies and para-pharmacies near you.
Recommendations and dosage
The dosage of Bach flowers is important : for the choice of your floral elixirs and for the dosages we recommend the opinion and advice of a homeopath, phytotherapist, naturopath, or at least an initiate.

Although today considered food supplements and not medicines, many people leave reviews about the surprisingly positive effects after taking Bach flowers.
As seen previously, each Bach flower has its counterpart in lithotherapy (mineral elixirs can be prepared). You can therefore combine your Bach flower with the corresponding mineral stone mounted as a bracelet.
