How to purify your stones, recharge them and cleanse them of bad energies?

Crystals and natural stones have been used for energetic therapeutic purposes for millennia and across cultures.

When you take care of them and use them in the right way , stones can prove to be very beneficial for your personal development and improvement in different aspects of your life.

When using crystals and fine stones for appeasement or energy work, the energies they possess can be drained or exhausted.

Therefore, negative, stagnant and harmful energies can replace them.

To address this, crystals and stones should always be cleaned and charged regularly before and after use . This will ensure their excellent condition, as well as their proper functioning.

When to purify minerals and recharge crystals?

Upon receipt of the stone:

When you receive a mineral, it must be purified to evacuate all the influences it has taken on from its extraction until it arrives in your hands.

Indeed, the stone has been handled by many people, placed in various places and has stored a multitude of energies.

It should be relieved of these and recharged with its initial energies.

After using the stone:

When a stone has been used during a lithotherapy session, it should be purified to rid it of the negativity it has taken on. Find our stone purification and recharging table at the bottom of the page.

Minerals in the environment:

Stones placed in a room gradually become charged and require monthly or immediate purification if a greatly disruptive event has occurred.

Stones carried on oneself:

They charge more or less strongly depending on the environment and your personal state . Generally speaking, weekly purification is recommended but can be carried out as soon as we feel that the mineral has less action.

How to purify stones?

There are different purification methods in lithotherapy depending on the type of crystal and its loading rate ( see our eBook )

The most used are purification with salt, salt water, water, clay, earth, incense, by sound and by symbols.

Purification by Salt:

Direct:

Simply immerse the stone in salt (Gris, Guérande, or Gros Sel) for 1 hour, then rinse it with clean water.

This method, although very effective, can only be used for minerals with a minimum hardness of 7 and which tolerate salt.

Indirect:

Simply place your stone in a jar (preferably glass) on a pile of salt for a few hours. Very good method for stones mounted on jewelry , or stones that do not support direct contact with salt.

Salt Water Purification:

Immerse the stone in salt water for 2 to 3 hours then rinse it with clean water.

The proportions of the saline solution are half a teaspoon of salt for 20 cl of distilled or demineralized water preferably.

Water Purification:

It's the simplest but also the longest. The stone must be immersed in a container filled with water for a minimum of 5 hours.

Be careful, some stones cannot withstand water, such as Malachite. Selenite is also a stone that does not tolerate water .

Clay Purification:

It is a good alternative to the Earth method and remarkably effective.
The stone should be placed in a mixture of clay and water and allowed to dry.
Once the water has evaporated, simply take the stone out and rinse it well.

Purification by Earth:

Allows you to breathe new life into devitalized minerals or minerals heavily charged with negative. This technique consists of burying a stone in the ground in a positive place and leaving it for at least 24 hours or longer depending on the need for purification.

Purification with Incense:

To be carried out very regularly for small purifications. Place the stone in the smoke of the incense that is being burned, visualizing the negative energies of the stone escaping and following the path of the incense smoke.

Purification by Sound:

Sound has the ability to scare away spirits and harmful energies. It is advisable to ring a bell while going around the stone to be purified or place it in a Tibetan bowl and then make it sing.

This method should only be used if you are pressed for time.

Why and how to recharge minerals?

The stone, by diffusing its virtues, gradually empties itself of its energies and becomes less effective. It should be recharged regularly to restore its strength and vigor .

There are several methods for recharging stones . The most used are:

Recharging by light:

Light is a universal natural energy whether it emanates from the sun or the moon. I

The stone should be placed in the light of one of these two stars to recharge it.

Be careful when choosing light depending on the stones, some cannot tolerate sunlight and vice versa ( see our eBook ).

For example, Amethyst , Labradorite , or Heavenly Eye Obsidian recharge at dusk or night. And Citrine , Watermelon Tourmaline , or even Tiger's Eye recharge at dawn or in the middle of the day.

Recharging by Fire:

Flames or heat are very important sources of energy .

Place a flame under the stone, leaving the heat source of your choice at a good distance.

This method should be used with the greatest caution and is reserved for experienced users.

Recharging by Crystalline Clusters:

Any minerals that materialize as geodes or crystal clusters create a large concentration of energy due to the form wave.

Recommended minerals for best results are amethyst and rock crystal.

To recharge a stone, place it on the crystal cluster or a dedicated orgonite:

CONCLUSION

Whatever purification or recharging method you use with your mineral stones, it is above all necessary to respond to their state by observing them, by feeling them .
